European Parliament

  
Gencho Boychinova, Desislava Katzov, Dorint Nikolova, Elvira Rashkova and Stella Ivanova PGIU "Elias Canetti" - Rousse, headed by Mr. Nikolai Lyaskovski, participated in the International Youth Democracy Project "Gioventù chiama Europa", which was held in Taormina , Sicily from 3 to 8 November 2011. It was attended by 50 young people from 4 European countries - Italy, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria. Bulgaria was represented by two schools Ruse - PGIU "Elias Canetti" and school "Vasil Levski".
The main objective of the project was a simulation of the process of making the European Parliament. The project gave young people the opportunity to better understand the work of the European Parliament. Build their skills in decision-making, encourage their participation in public life, develop their potential and make them more responsible European citizens.
The project lasted four months, during which students are trained in web-based method "learning by doing." They study problems in various European countries and prepare their comments and recommendations from the perspective of politicians.
At the conference, students played the roles of MPs in Parliament representing EU Member States. In the process, after the vote, was elected president of the parliament. Participants were divided into two working committees and discuss the "divide and modern electronic media" and "freedom of information on the Internet." Took place in debates and discussions, participants had the opportunity to enrich their knowledge of EU affairs. Acquainted with the positions of member states in terms of policy. Practiced and improved their negotiating strategies and skills for decision making.
The project, students experience the culture, customs and traditional cuisine of the other participants in the event.
The project "Gioventù chiama Europa" We provide a unique opportunity to be part of active youth society in Europe.
 

Project "Model School as a medium for democratic citizenship" to the school association "Sage" in conjunction with the European Year of Citizenship in 2006 in the international project entitled: 'European school partnerships through non-violent civic education our school representatives to participate More than 11 European countries (England, France, Italy, Belgium, Finland, Spain, Sweden, Poland, Romania, Turkey). Our teams have participated in workshops in Timisoara (Romania), Istanbul (Turkey) and .... .......( Italy).

Project "European Guide to Democracy" is international and has been declared by the Council of Europe - 2005 PGIU Elias Canetti participate in a working group with Cyprus and Slovenia, where exchanged ideas on - further democratization of school life.

Project under the United Nations: On 21. 09. 2007 students of 8 grade of the school participated in the campaign "Plant a Tree" ("ENO TRRE PLANTING DAY") program of the UN environment. They performed the play "Drops of Life", and at 12 pm joined the World campaign to plant more than 100,000 trees. For successful participation school received a certificate. In our school tradition "Plant a Tree" was continued by X and VIII. They planted a tree on the occasion of 130 - the anniversary of the liberation of Bulgaria (03.03.2008g.) Earth Day (22.04. 2008.) First day of school (15.09.2008g.) Independence Day (22.09.2008g.).

Project "Victim of corruption? No way! "

During the academic year 2005/2006 participate in national project of Bac funded by the Democracy Commission at the U.S. Embassy. There were teams of Silistra, Razgrad, Ruse. As a team from Ruse was all from our school. Students are introduced to the dimensions of corruption in order to prevent and reduce its size. In connection with this week was conducted anti-corruption practices, all activities were covered by regional media. The activities were varied: participation in training seminars conducted a survey among public institutions, youth, parents and teachers perception, distribution of leaflets, essay contests and drawings, presentations, final forum for announcing the results of activities and rewarding distinguished participants;
Youth team of eight students from the PG in Economics and Management Elias Canetti with leaders and Katia Kalina Peneva Semerdzhieva organize, plan and carry out a campaign to inform and raise public sensitivity - Week of anticorruption in the town of Rousse. Activities:

  • Dissemination of information leaflet among the youth and public of Ruse;
  • Conduct a debate on "Corruption brings more benefits than harm" between students from PGIU Elias Canetti and Mathematics "Baba Tonka";
  • Conducting thematic hour class on "Youth against Corruption";
  • Conduct a final forum with the participation of students, teachers, employees of the Interior, and social workers. Disclosure of results of surveys and contests. Awarding of the winning works and most active players in the team;

The campaign was reflected by the regional media.

Around 1000 young people and their families received information on corruption, its manifestations and dimensions, and how to react if they become its victims. Indirect ideas and activities of the youth team of PGIU "Elias Canetti" reached the public of Ruse.
